Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to help you understand the course, training process, and career opportunities.
1. Is there actually work for video editors in Trivandrum?
More than most people expect. Doordarshan Kerala, government media departments, wedding filmmakers, brand studios, YouTube creators, local ad agencies — Trivandrum has a healthy demand for editors across different sectors. And that’s before even counting the freelance opportunities you can access from anywhere.
2. Do I have to relocate to Kochi or Chennai to find good work?
You don’t have to move anywhere. Trivandrum has its own strong media and production industry. Many of our students have found work with local production studios, digital agencies, government media units, and wedding filmmaking teams right here in Trivandrum. Freelancing is also a great option — you can work from home and take on clients from anywhere in Kerala or beyond.
3. I'm currently studying in college. Can I still join?
Absolutely. We offer flexible batch timings — including weekend batches — specifically designed for students who are balancing college and skill development at the same time. Many of our students do exactly this.
4. Does IIDM support placements in Trivandrum?
Yes. We actively help students with their portfolios, resumes, and interview preparation. Our placement team has connections with companies and studios in Trivandrum and across Kerala — and we use them to help our students find the right opportunities after completing the course.
